Tianjin Port Status Report

news cover

Hello everyone!

Between June 8–15, 2026, a total of 12 block trains departed from Tianjin to the Erenhot/Zamyn-Uud route, while approximately 840 containers were transported by road to the Erenhot border crossing.

Currently, around 4,000 TEU (more than 2,000 containers) destined for Mongolia are accumulated in Tianjin. Due to an average waiting time of 30–35 days for loading onto trains, customers are advised to make appropriate adjustments to their transportation plans and delivery schedules.

At the six customs inspection yards in Ulaanbaatar, there are currently 855 containers in total (433 loaded and 422 empty).

Due to wagon congestion at the Erenhot/Zamyn-Uud border and extended waiting times in Xingang, importers seeking to receive their cargo before the Naadam Festival have increasingly shifted to road transportation. This trend is expected to result in:

• A sharp increase in demand for trucks • Shortages of transportation vehicles • Longer road transit times • Higher transportation rates

As a result, road freight rates are expected to increase in the near future.
